Aimee Marie Bennett, 44, of Girard, died at 5:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in the Girard Medical Center.
Aimee was born January 2, 1979 in Pittsburg, the daughter of Gary and Kim Swart Bennett. She grew up and attended schools in Girard and graduated from Girard High School in 1997. She graduated from Fort Scott Community College School of Cosmetology.
Aimee worked at Chicken Annies in Girard throughout high school and for 24 years as a day service manager at ResCare Connections in Girard.
Aimee loved her family, her clients at ResCare, her dog, Avery, and her cat, Izzy.
Survivors, her fiancé, Josh Vail, of the home, her step-son, Josh Vail, and his wife, Mariya Khomenko, of Cedar City, Utah; her daughter, Carlie K. Vail, of the home; her father, Gary Bennett, of Frontenac; her brother, Jeremy Bennett, of Girard; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Aimee was preceded in death by her mother, Kim (Swart) Bennett, her grandparents, Alva and Mildred Bennett, William Swart and Evelyn Gaston, and a cousin, Ricky Bennett.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2023 at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Sunday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 1:00 p.m., Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested for her daughter's education fund and
to assist the family with final expenses, and these may be left at the funeral home at 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
