Edward Hallinan

HALLINAN, Edward J., 54, of Milton, Pa., formerly of Altoona, Pa., died Tuesday in Richmond, Va., as a result of a pedestrian/ automobile accident. He was born in Altoona, the son of Lillian R. (Rahm) Hallinan and the late Thomas Hallinan. He married Diane Heidler on October 24, 1987 in Altoona. Surviving are his wife; his mother; two sons, Sean P. and Chad E., both of Milton; a brother, Tim (LuAnn) of Altoona; and a sister, Joyce of Rockville, Md. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul. Edward was a graduate of Altoona High School and Penn State University and earned a master's degree at St. Francis College. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was employed as a compensation manager at VCU Health System in Richmond, Va. Edward was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Richmond, Va., and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milton, Pa. He was very involved with his church and enjoyed helping others. He also belonged to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bavarian Aid Society and Ancient Order of Hibernians. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011 at The Stevens Mortuary, Inc., 1421 8th Ave., Altoona, stevensmortuary.com, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Altoona, Pa. The family requests that contributions be made to SPCA International, Inc., P.O.
