My family lives on the street where Ed Hallinan rented a room during his time in Richmond, Virginia. Every day I try to remember Ed in prayer when I drive by his former home.

I interned for Ed at Geisinger Medical Center in the early 90's. He was a tremendous leader and mentor to me. I now teach students in HR management. He was such a caring, compassionate, gracious soul. Although we mostly lost touch over the years, he always stayed close to my memory and heart. He's a friend I will have forever, even to the end of the age.

I am very sorry to hear about Ed Hallinan, he was a friend and a mentor and I had a strong personel connection to him. I met him 11 years ago when I was in a internship at the VCU health Systems Human Resources Department and he asked me to return on a temporary basis a year later for three months and I learned so much from him. I would call him periodically for advice thereafter and simply to talk and he was the most warm, polite and cordial of individuals. I had not talk to him for a year and I called on 8/15/11 only to hear of the news. I was shocked and could not believe it. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and my wish that he will rest in peace with the Lord. Ed was liked by all and he will certainly will missed.

My wife and I knew Ed as a neighbor. Ed lived in a house on our street in Richmond. I first met Ed while taking the bus to work. Later I would enjoy the friendly exchanges we had when we met in downtown Richmond. Ed was always friendly and polite. I admire his stamina and his faithfulness in commuting on the weekend between Richmond and his home in Pennsylvania. My wife & I always remembered Ed when we passed his house in Richmond, and we will continue to do that. May his soul through the mercy of God rest in peace.

We at Emilio's Restaurant are so very sorry to hear about Mr. Hallinan. We send our thoughts and prayers to the family. Ed was definitely a member of the Emilio's family and was a great individual who was well liked by all and who always wore a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed as we too have lost a family member.

I had the pleasure of working with Ed for many years, when I was employed by the VCU Health System in Richmond, Virginia. I will always remember his ever-present smile, his good humor, and the love he always expressed for his wife and sons. His loss is truly a tragedy for all who loved and were associated with him. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May he have ever-lasting peace with his Lord.
