Sterling -- Shania M. Nieman, age 22, of Sterling, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the comfort of her own home early Sunday morning, July 31, 2022.
Shania was born on April 26, 2000, in Orrville, Ohio, to Doug and Melaney (Carraway) Nieman and graduated from Wooster High School with the class of 2018.
Shania attended ChristChurch in Sterling. Though she endured many struggles throughout her life, Shania never complained. She was the most laid back, easy going, patient soul who was loved by everyone she came into contact with. To know her was to love her. And she loved in return. Shania's passion was people! She would light up when certain friends and family would walk into the room. She had numerous special friends that she would visit, and that would also come to visit her.
Though she had her limitations, Shania lived a full and well-loved life. She will be remembered for her big smile and her overall happiness. She enjoyed spending time with her family, spending time on the family boat, going to restaurants, and was sure to be involved with every family activity that came about. She also appreciated being at home enjoying music and her favorite shows.
She relished going on shopping trips with her mom, and had many special friends working at their favorite stores that would make sure certain outfits were set aside so that they could show them to Shania when she arrived. Though she had a plain style, she always looked nice, and her sense of style was important to her (and to her mom).
Surviving, in addition to her mom and dad, are her two brothers, Logan (fiancé Jamie Votaw) Crosland of Orrville, and Hunter Nieman of Sterling; nephew, Asher Crosland of Orrville; future niece, Hayley Votaw of Orrville; paternal grandparents, Denny & Kay Nieman of Sterling; maternal grandmother, Becky (Ed) Perry of Marshallville; maternal grandfather, Ken Carraway of Wooster; aunts and uncles, Dana (Lea) Nieman, Darla (Greg) Henico, Derek (Juliet) Nieman, Kenny (Leslie) Carraway, Tom (Shelley) Carraway, Joe (Brandy) Carraway, and Gary (Becki) Carraway; numerous cousins; and numerous special friends.
Shania was born with her angel wings, but she has now learned to fly.
Friends may call from 4-7pm on Tuesday, August 2 at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman, or from 9:30-10:15am on Wednesday morning at the church.
