Rockport – Alan Richard Mathieu, 78, passed away at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
Alan was born on October 26, 1945, in Waterville to Richard and Louvinie (Nadeau) Mathieu. He attended and graduated from Lawrence High School.
Alan worked for the railroad before becoming a welder for Mid-State Machine, from which he eventually retired.
Alan enjoyed going to breakfast with his sister and her husband, as well as shopping. He was a regular gadget guru.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Claire (Walters) Mathieu, his infant son, Chad E. Mathieu, his sister Carol Fowler, and her son Matt.
He is survived by his sons Richard and wife Debbie, and Brent, sister Pauline and husband James, his grandchildren Shane and Zoe, and his siter-in-law Patty and husband Paul Santere.
A committal will be held at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove Street, Waterville on May 16, 2024, at 11:15 am.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Pen Bay Medical Center for their amazing care and compassion.
