Alexander Yanko Obituary
Alexander "Al" Yanko, passed away on April 30, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on February 6, 1945, in the historic town of Bethlehem, Al's journey through life was marked by dedication, service, and the joy of simple pleasures.
Al's early years were spent in the town of his birth, where he attended Liberty High School and graduated with the class of 1963. His commitment to his country was evident when he honorably served in the United States Marines, a period of his life that shaped his enduring values of discipline and respect.
Following his military service, Al returned to Bethlehem and began a fulfilling career at Bethlehem Steel. His work ethic and reliability were hallmarks of his character, and he later brought these traits to Knoll Manufacturing, where he worked until his well-deserved retirement. Al's professional life was a testament to his belief in hard work and loyalty.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Al was a man who cherished the outdoors and the simple joy of creating with his hands. Woodworking was not just a hobby for him but a form of expression. He was also an active member of the Easton Fish and Game, where he shared his passion for nature and conservation with like-minded individuals.
Al's greatest love, however, was his family. He was the beloved husband of Judith (Krasnai) Yanko for 57 remarkable years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their bond was further strengthened by the arrival of their son, Alexander Yanko, and his wife, Kelli. Al's heart swelled with pride and joy at the birth of his grandchildren, Charlotte, Andrew, James, and Ben, who brought him immeasurable happiness and a sense of legacy.
Though he was predeceased by his sisters, Aurora and Delight, Al's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories and memories shared by his family and friends. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Al passed away surrounded by the warmth and love of his family, a fitting end to a life so deeply rooted in familial bonds. He leaves behind a legacy of love, a blueprint for a life well-lived, and the knowledge that he was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed.
Services: A private ceremony will be held at the convenience of the family, where they will gather to honor Al's memory, celebrate his life, and bid a fond farewell to a man who was so much to so many. Al's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Rd., Easton, PA 18042.

Al was a very wonderful brother-in-law, uncle and overall good member of our family. He was always there willing to help in any way possible. He was also always willing to join in the fun times. Christmas holidays, birthdays, graduations and summer fun times in our pools with all the "kids." Harold and Al also enjoyed "taking down" big trees. He always made sure we both had enough firewood for his woodstove and our fireplace. His memory will live on in our hearts forever. He will be greatly missed.
Love to the family,
Pat and Harold

Thank you Al for being a wonderful husband to my sister, Judy; a fantastic and supportive father to your son,Alex; an equally fantastic and supportive grandfather to your four grandchildren; serving your country and of course, Barney steak sandwiches on Pembroke Rd. You will always be remembered with great fondness by many people. Sandy and Mario

I will always remember donuts and coffee "tea for me" around the dining room table. Even though he would call me a pansy for drinking tea. . Lots of memories, lots of love .
