ALLEN DUANE HUNT, age 88, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024 with the love of his life, Vickie, and his son, Dale, by his side. The last few years brought many health challenges that Allen courageously fought. He has now entered heavens gates and will rest in eternal peace. Allen (Duane to his family) was born on April 24, 1936 in his grandparent's log cabin near Ackerman MS to Allen F. and Gassie C. (Oswalt) Hunt. Allen spent his childhood in Ackerman and Sturgis MS and graduated from Ackerman HS in 1955. After graduating and before joining the U.S. Air Force in June 1956, Allen worked at a Detroit car factory on the assembly line. Allen joined the USAF with his brother, Kenneth on the buddy system. He became an Intelligence Analyst and served at Misawa AB, Japan for 3 years and then finished his 8-year USAF career at NSA in Ft Meade MD. Upon honorable discharge he took off the USAF uniform, put on civilian clothes and worked at NSA for another 30 years. Allen had field tours in Colorado where he met and married Vickie in 1982 and together, they had field assignments in Germany. After retirement in 1995, Allen and Vickie moved to Fountain Hills AZ. Allen loved to travel the world but his most special destination was home, Mississippi. Allen achieved so much in his life and gave so much of himself to others. He will be missed dearly by those who knew him and loved him. Allen is survived by his wife Vickie, son Dale, sister Betty, brother Billy (Cheryl), brothers-in-law Bob (Hilary) and Chuck, grandchildren James, Dana and Steven along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Vaughn Allen and brothers Kenneth and Michael. No services are planned and he will be taken home to MS at a later date.
