Alvin Ray Scott, age 89, of Wentzville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in Saint Peters, Missouri. He was born in Mine La Motte, Missouri on April 25, 1936 to Orville and Florence Scott (nee Matthews).
Alvin had a distinguished 42 year career at McDonnell Douglas / Boeing as a sheet metal assembler and riveter and later as an experimental flight mechanic. He received numerous awards for his work. Alvin’s career was briefly interrupted by service in the United States Army as a rocket crewman.
More important, though, than his career and military service were Alvin’s faith and love of family. Alvin faithfully served in the churches he attended, including leading Bible studies with teenagers and serving as an elder. He was a loving husband to Elizabeth, his wife of 62 years. Alvin enjoyed family vacations, playing with his grandchildren, and barbecuing for family gatherings (specializing in pork steaks).
Alvin is survived by his sons, Mark David (Jan) Scott, Terry Michael (Amy) Scott, and Kevin Ray (Deborah) Scott; his grandchildren, Alyssa Lauren Dyke, Anna Elizabeth Maasen, Kayla Christine Villanueva, Erin Elisabeth Scott, Jesse Michael Scott, Adam David Scott, Courtney Michelle Lindsey, Lauren Elizabeth Scott, Ash Lily Scott, and Ella Joy Scott; his great-grandchildren, Reece Bennett Maasen, Jude Lincoln Maasen, Tate Landon Maasen, Selah Grace Dyke, Asher Everett Dyke, Hudson David Dyke, Elise Rose Lindsey, and Theodore Archer Lindsey; and his sister, Carolyn Swink.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Joan (Sales) Scott; grandson, Ethan Ray Scott; his father, Orville Franklin Scott; his mother, Florence Naomi Scott; his brother Marvin Scott; and his brother Darrell Scott.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, June 14th, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Peters, MO 63376 - with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 pm.
