Graduated 1953 Class Vice President, Suffern High School where he earned 4 letters in sports including baseball, wrestling, track and tennis.
August 1953 Tony enlisted in the United States Navy, where he became 2nd Class Petty Officer/Radioman aboard USS Edward S. Allen. In 1956 he was involved in the brilliant rescue efforts while being Radioman on duty who intercepted the S.O.S. from Luxury Italian Ocean Liner, Andrea Doria, when it collided with Transatlantic Swedish freightliner, MS Stockholm. Soon afterwards, Tony was offered an opportunity to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. to which he surprisingly declined.
Tony was a true baseball athlete in his younger years, participating in sometimes multiple leagues at once, earning him time played with Farm Team "The Washington Senators".
In 1971, Tony & his beloved wife Mary and their three children moved to Naples, Florida to enjoy the sunshine, beaches, and most importantly... of course, the many golf courses. He enjoyed a lifetime of golfing with his buddies and family, and succeeded in making not one, but TWO holes in one over his lifetime.
Preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Elizabeth Grodecki of Mahwah, NJ and Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law; Richard & Dorothea Williams, Tallman, NY/ Naples, FL.
Survived by: Wife; Mary Grodecki, Brother; Stanley Grodecki Jr., Children; John Ross (Michelle), Lee Ross, Ganiene Grodecki Messmer (James), Grandchildren; Ashleigh Jones (Zack), Hali Snell (Bryan), Abigail Ross, and Faith Messmer
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church: 625 111th Ave. N, Naples, FL 34108
