Rev. Arthur Warner passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 at the age of 94.
Art was born on Dec. 16, 1930 in Columbus Township, Pennsylvania, the son of dairy farmers.
He had a life-changing encounter with Jesus at the age of 21 which dramatically altered the
course of his life. Newly committed to following God wherever He led, he attended Nyack
College, where he prepared for a career as a church pastor. He married the love of his life, Ida
Mae McDonald, on July 30, 1955. They became a united team, devoted to God, each other, their
family and the thousands of people that God allowed them to minister to through the years. They
served in churches in Missouri, Iowa, Massachusetts and Maine for the next 55 years. After his
retirement at the age of 80, he dedicated himself to caring for Ida through her final years. Once
she went home to Jesus in 2011, he continued to bless others, loving on his growing family,
listening and reflecting with others and contacting friends regularly on their significant
anniversaries and birthdays. Always generous, he became famous for the homemade Swedish rye
bread, rhubarb jam and home-grown dahlias he gave away regularly. In his final years, he
became an author, as he wrote a book to sum up the lessons he learned through his long life.
The highlight of Pastor Art's years of ministry centered on his 31 years of pastoring Church of
Emmanuel in Foxborough, MA. A man of boundless energy and enthusiasm, he was always
ready to help others in any way he could, spiritually, emotionally and physically. True to his
country roots, he liked nothing better than getting his hands dirty in his varied efforts to support
and help others. In fact, you might find him in his Sunday best, tackling a menial job that needed
doing, in the moments between services. He especially enjoyed fellowship with the people
around him, from church campouts to the days when the Emmanuel church people cleaned the
old Sullivan Stadium. He relished the aspects of participating in the construction of the current
building at Church of Emmanuel, from running backhoes to staining the woodwork.
Grandpa Art, as he is lovingly known by all in the family, is survived by his daughters Marlene
Travis and Ricky Sidoruk, his son-in-law David Sidoruk, 7 grandchildren and their spouses and
10 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, October 28 from 3
PM to 7 PM at Church of Emmanuel, 106 Central Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be
held on Wednesday, October 29 at 10 AM, also at Church of Emmanuel. The service will be live-
streamed on the church's Facebook and YouTube pages, and a recording of it will be available on
their YouTube page after the fact. To send an on-line condolence please visit the funeral home
