Ava Maitz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by K.V. Knopp Funeral Home on Sep. 10, 2024.
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the death of our daughter, Ava Grace Maitz. Ava passed away on September 7, 2024 in Quakertown. She was born on January 16, 2001 in Sellersville. After graduating from Southern Lehigh High School in Coopersburg in 2019, she attended Bloomsburg University. At BU, she studied Business and Personal Finance.
Ava was a loyal employee and worked at the Giant Food Store in Coopersburg for 4 years. She was recently awarded "Employee of the Month."
Ava loved all things arts and crafts – beading, pottery, coloring and knitting. She was a voracious reader – usually anything by James Patterson. Ava loved any beach and swimming in the ocean. She enjoyed drinking Starbucks, watching Dateline and spending time with family and her beloved tribe of girlfriends. Ava was the Limeport Milkmen's biggest fan and a member of Steeler nation.
Survivors: Father, Jon Maitz of Coopersburg; mother, Kathy Maitz of Quakertown; brother, Jake Maitz of Coopersburg; paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Maitz of Holly Springs, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ray and Eleanore Campbell. Ava also leaves behind many other family members – aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends who will sadly miss her.
Services: All are invited to attend her viewing on Sunday evening, September 15, 2024 from 6-8 PM or Monday morning from 10 AM until 12 Noon in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna Street, Allentown. A service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, with interment to follow at St. Paul's Blue Church Cemetery in Coopersburg.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to ArtsQuest, 25 W. 3rd Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015 or to Limeport Stadium, PO Box 6, Limeport, PA 18060. Please note that the donation is in memory of Ava.

Ava was truly the center of our flower at work. I worked with Ava in Coopersburg Giant and she always seemed to be the center tie to all of us (hence our flower!). No one could walk by her without her reaching out to everyone. She was one of the kindest and funny people I ever met. She is so truly missed by us all. She made such a difference to so many people. I am grateful for our friendship. I also am grateful for all the memories she gave so many of us. God bless her family, and friends.

Ava was my angel on a few occasions when I had things happen at work. She stop to make sure I was OK and stayed with me so I wouldn't be alone. She was a good soul.

Ava is one of the sweetest and funniest people I've met. It's been such an honor and blessing to be able to call her my friend and I know she was loved by so many. She will be missed so much.

Jon, Kathy, and Jake,

My heart breaks for all of you. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

I met Ava during the little league baseball years. That young girl always knew what was going on with baseball. I will never forget Ava helping me with the dreaded snack stand. I was so thankful!!

Years later, I often ran into her at Giant. She always had a smile on her face and would give me a big hug. Ava will be missed very much, and I will forever cherish the time I spent with her.

What a sweet beautiful girl taken away from us entirely to soon. I will miss her and her visits greatly. She always was able to put a smile on my face especially when telling me one of her stories. May she rest in eternal peace.
