Wadsworth - William "Bill" Eshelman, age 57, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center in Akron, after a period of declining health.
Bill was born on July 9, 1967, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Jack Eshelman and Patricia (Pahl) Yaros-Eshelman. He graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1986 and earned a bachelor's degree from Kentucky Christian University in 2005. On September 2, 2000, he married Amy Graf at Northside Christian Church. She survives him.
Bill worked for many years as a carpenter before receiving his calling to serve as a chaplain for Crossroads Hospice, a role he found deeply fulfilling.
An active member of his church, Bill's love for music was central to his life. He was a talented guitarist and singer, often playing in the church praise band and in various bands with his friends. He also loved working with his hands, building projects, and presenting awards to veterans as part of his chaplaincy work. Bill found great joy in riding his motorcycle, spending time at the beach with family, and supporting his children's football and basketball games. He was known for his way with words and his compassionate spirit.
Surviving are his wife, Amy Eshelman of Wadsworth; two sons, James Eshelman of Wadsworth, and Daniel Eshelman of Wadsworth; two sisters, Elizabeth (Jeff) Hastings of GA, and Kim (Jim) Blackwell of Port Washington, OH; four brothers, Steven (Laura) Yaros of Portage Lakes, Jack (Jan) Eshelman of TN, Michael (Karen) Leyba of TX, and Bob (Jeanne) Eshelman of Wadsworth; three brothers-in-law, Carl Harris, Kel Kelly, and Bill Sanders; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Thompson and Patty Yaros; in-laws, Ernie and Vicki Graf of Wadsworth; a special nephew and niece that were like his siblings, John (Sue) O'Leary of Wadsworth, and Chris (Louie) LoCoco of Rittman; and several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter Yaros and John Yaros, and sisters Patricia Harris, Pam Kelly, and Debbie Sanders.
A celebration of life will be held from 10am - 12pm on October 19th, 2024 at Northside Christian Church, 7615 Ridge Rd., Wadsworth with a time of sharing at 12 Noon presided by Pastor Ray Sanders.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123, or at www.cancer.org .

I worked closely with Bill as part of chaplain team at Crossroads. I enjoyed his humor and concern for others. I know his family was very important to him. He was such a nice and helpful guy!! My deepest condolences for your loss of such a kind and caring husband and father.
