William Charles "Bill" Kehl, age 60, of Berkley, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024. Born on August 1, 1964, in Detroit to Charles and Dolores Kehl, Bill grew up in Warren and graduated from Cousino High School. He always pursued a lifelong passion for music, a pursuit that would shape both his personal and professional life.
A gifted musician, composer, and artist, Bill dedicated many years to the entertainment industry, sharing his extraordinary talents as a guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. His creativity extended beyond music-he was also a talented visual artist-but it was his love for his family and music that was the heartbeat of his life. Whether through his performances or his art, Bill's unique creative spirit touched everyone who encountered his work.
In addition to his artistic talents, Bill was known for his kind and compassionate nature as well as his sense of humor. He was a source of wisdom, offering guidance to all who sought it. His patience and calm demeanor, combined with a rare insight into the human experience, made him a beloved confidant and a steady presence for those around him. Bill's ability to see the good in others and his gift for understanding people's hearts left a profound, lasting impact.
At the core of Bill's life was his deep faith. His strong belief in God not only shaped his personal values and morals but also provided him with comfort and strength throughout his life. His faith inspired those around him, and his example of kindness, humility, and love will be remembered with great fondness by all who knew him.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and wisdom. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Bill is survived by his son, Jacob Kehl; his step-daughter, Andrea Ferrell; his loving mother, Dolores Kehl; his dear sister, Cheryl (Steve) Oberholtzer; his God daughter Jessica Oberholtzer; his nieces and their families; his Aunt Mary and Uncle Richard Lapa; his cherished friend, Jean Cleary, as well as his childhood friends, Greg Wofford and Dave Novak. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Kehl.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Bill's honor, with details to follow.
