Billy Lee Glenn was born on March 7, 1929, to Clarence and Flossie Glenn. He stepped into heaven on June 17, 2024. Bill served in the military from 1947-1950. While in the Navy, he was trained in the field of communications. Much of his military time was served in the Pacific region, including Hawaii, Guam, and Johnston Island. As a young man, Bill pursued his interest in bowling and eventually became manager of Ozark Bowl. Bill had a fascination with bowling and made many wonderful friends through the sport. Bill helped establish the Greater Ozark Tournament and was inducted into Missouri's Bowler Hall of Fame. Later, Bill was employed by Southwest Missouri State to help run the game room and work with the bowling team.
Bill married his childhood sweetheart, Zelma Gann, on May 27, 1950. They shared 68 years together at the time of Zelma's passing in 2018. Bill is leaving cherished memories with children: Linda (Courtney) Parker and Christopher (Cynthia) Glenn. Beloved grandchildren include Kristen Parker of Virginia, Brooke (Luke) Shaw, Ashley (Nick) Baker, Taylor Glenn, Jordan Glenn, and Joshua Glenn, all local. Great-grandchildren include Henry, Penelope and Samuel Shaw; Zoey Glenn, Kaden and Avery Glenn, and Jasik Glenn. Surviving siblings include Gene, Jim, and Lee, along with many nieces and nephews.
Thank you, dad, for leaving us a wonderful example of a life well lived. You encouraged us, helped us develop our faith, and taught us compassion. Meet us at the gate.
