Bonnie Eileen Stratton

Bonnie Eileen Stratton, age 79, of Bradford, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at home. She was born on July 14, 1945 in Susquehanna, PA, the daughter of the late Durland and Julia (Brant) Drake. She married Thomas Stratton on February 14, 1976 at Campbell United Methodist Church. He predeceased her on January 30, 2014.
Bonnie graduated from Susquehanna High School in 1963 and attended Mansfield University obtaining her Master's Degree. She was born and raised in Susquehanna, PA. and later moved to Campbell and then settled in South Bradford. Bonnie was a math teacher at Northside Blodgett School for many years and she was active in the New York State Retired Teachers and past president and current treasurer of the Corning Area Retired Teachers' Association. She retired from the school district in 2000. She was a longtime supporter of Boy Scout Troop 45 and very active in the Town of Bradford including being on the town board. Bonnie cherished the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She was an amazing grandmother who was involved in all their events. Bonnie enjoyed crosswords, sudokus, puzzles, card games, traveling, cooking, and camping. She was known for being a generous dependable neighbor and treated everyone with kindness.
She is the beloved mother of one daughter and five sons, Lynn (Fred) Bordley of Seaford, DE, Todd (Phoebe) Richards of Los Angeles, CA, Jason (Jennifer) Richards of Webster, NY, Brent (Anna) Stratton of Shortsville, NY, Clinton (Julie) Stratton of Horseheads, NY, and Olin (Jennifer) Stratton of Marietta, NY, daughter-in-law, Debbie Bender-Richards of Culver City, CA, grandchildren, Frederick, Matthew (Courtney), and Lisa Marie Bordley, Talia and Ezra Richards, Maya and Max Richards, James, Matthew, Katherine, and Andrew Stratton, Grace and Olivia Stratton, and Zita Stratton, brothers, Richard (Patricia) Drake and Bradley Drake, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 West Pulteney Street, Corning on Sunday, February 9, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. A funeral service will follow there at 3:00pm.
