Brian Impson was born April 26, 1952 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was adopted at the age of 13 months by Bon & Helen Impson of Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wynnewood High School in 1970. He played football during his high school years, then moved onto Haskell Indian College in Lawrence, Kansas. He was drafted into the Army in 1971, where he was stationed in Germany. Upon the end of the VIetnam War, he returned home to find work as a welder. He traveled and worked internationally throughout his career.
During his lifetime, Brian was faced with many obstacles that he chose to handle in a positive way. He was always determined to better himself & his path in life. He began to work on old bicycles, as a hobby. He could be seen riding a bike through town on any given day. At the age of 68, he was struck by a vehicle that left him wheelchair bound. After a major surgery, rehabilitation & his own personal determination, he began to walk & ultimately ride his bike again. One Friday evening, in the fall, he attended a Wynnewood Football game. His bike was stolen. The CIty of Wynnewood purchased him a bike. The following Spring, he took the bike to the Senior Olympic Games in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He completed a 5K & at 10K at the age of 70. Brian was a member of the Osage Nation. He was a charismatic person that had a smile on his face, most of the time. He will be greatly missed. May he rest peacefully.
His survivors include his lifelong companion, Kathi Evans, of Wynnewood, Oklahoma. His daughter, Amanda Lunn, his four grandchildren, Shallin Hudgens, James Lunn, Aleigha Lunn & Lexie Thomas, and three great grandchildren of Nashville, Tennessee.
Wife of his beloved brother Bruce Impson, Mrs. Diana Impson of Carthage, Missouri; Barron & Starla Impson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Children & grandchildren of his dear sister, Dallas Rose Higgins, Burl Aaron & Bethany Higgins; Halie, Blake & Bryce Higgins, Tabitha & James Lagaly; Olivia Lagaly, Brandon Higgins & Mandy Brixey, Marcus Brixey, Gabrielle Jones, Shayla Brixey, JC Brixey, Eli Brixey, Taylor Brixey all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
