Bryan C. Kiel passed from this life at his home in Columbus, January 16, 2025, at the age of 64. Born March 10, 1960, in Columbus, Indiana, he was the cherished son of Charles W. and Linda K. Mengler Kiel, who survive him in the town where he was both born and raised.
He was a loving father to his children, Matt (Heather) Kiel, Betsy Kiel, Katie Kiel, Sara Mikulyuk and Mike Mikulyuk who will carry forward the values he instilled in them. His joy was multiplied with the arrival of his granddaughters, Maryn and Emery Kiel. Bryan also leaves behind his brother, Greg (Robin) Kiel, and was a fond uncle to his nieces and nephews, Brittany, Stephany, Meagan, and Jaynie Kiel, Drew (Ali) Kiel, Mallary (Caleb) Blackburn, and Sydney (David) Evans.
Bryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Dorothy Mengler and Raymond and Alma Kiel, as well as his brother, Jay Alan Kiel. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with those who went before him.
Professionally, Bryan was the respected club manager at the Columbus Elks Lodge 521, where he served with distinction and made countless contributions to the organization. Prior to that, he worked as an entrepreneur having businesses in the construction trade.
Beyond his professional life, Bryan was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Columbus. He was an avid fan of all sports teams in the state of Indiana. He enjoyed playing golf as well.
An Elks Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Mark Teike.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11 a.m. until service time Monday.
Bryan will be laid to rest on the family plot at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Children's Fund (Checks payable to Columbus Elks 521).
Condolences and special memories may be shared with the Kiel family and a video tribute may be seen at barkesweaverglick.com.
