GONZALEZ
Carlos Rene "Chale" Gonzalez, 63 years of age, was called home on Friday, November 29, 2024 in a Corpus Christi hospital after a short illness with his loving family at his bedside. He was born in Alice, Texas to his parents, Silvestre D. Gonzalez and Ernestina G. Gonzalez. Chale was a 1979 graduate of San Diego High School and was active in UIL events, track, Vaquero Band director, cross country and most popular all his year in high school. He then moved to Austin, Texas where he worked for Butter Krust and the State Hospital, he relocated to Corpus Christi and worked with the B Bus and Whataburger and settled down in San Diego where he worked for several oil field companies. He was a custodian for San Diego ISD and was formerly employed as a bus driver for Alice ISD for over 16 years and retired in October 2024. Chale was a die hard Texas Longhorn fan, and enjoyed lottery scratch offs, going to Kickapoo and taking his kids to amusement parks. His character enlightened many in their own way and he never met a stranger and was very adventurous. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Silvestre D. Gonzalez Jr.; brother, Luis Daniel "Danny" Gonzalez; paternal and maternal grandparents.
Chale is survived by his wife of 39 years of marriage, Alma G. Gonzalez of San Diego, Texas; his three sons, John Michael Gonzalez of Austin, Texas; Pedro Saul Gonzalez of San Digo, Texas; Jaime Adrian Gonzalez of Seattle, Washington; his daughter, Sarah Lynn (Terrance) Johnson, of San Diego, Texas; his mother, Ernestina "Tina" Saenz of Benavides, Texas; one sister, Gloria (David) Garcia of San Diego, Texas; five grandchildren, Nyjah Paul Uballe, Abriana Gonzalez, Elana Janae Johnson, Aniya Malani Johnson, Cyla Ranae Johnson; six nieces and nephews; Jacob Daniel Gonzalez, Luis Daniel "L.D."
