Carol Mae Hansmann, 87, of New Holstein, was called to her Savior Friday, December 20, 2024 at home. Carol was born April 17, 1937 at her maternal grandmother Gutschow's home at Spring Lake, near School Hill, to the late Elmer and Norma (Gutschow) Nagel. She attended Trinity Liberty grade school before graduating from Valders High School in 1955. On October 10, 1959, she married Walter Hansmann.
Carol was employed at Bremmers Manufacturing where she worked in accounting until her retirement in 1997. Carol enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, quilting, including making wall quilts and bed quilts and preparing meals for her family, especially at holiday gatherings. She also liked to spend time at Star Lake, first camping, then at the cabin, swimming, fishing, going for pontoon rides and preparing amazing breakfasts and the social evening meals cooked over the campfire overlooking the lake.
Carol was an active member at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, where she was the past president of the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School for many years.
In addition to her husband, Walter, she is survived by her children, Scott (Jane), Glenn (Jenny), Gregg (Beth) and Brett (Michelle) Hansmann; nine grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Dale, and her siblings, Ronald Nagel and Janice Chizek.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church (387 Cemetery Road, Kiel) with Rev. Brett Naumann and Rev. Isaiah Horn officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, at the church, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. when brief family rites will be held. Please visit www.meiselwitzfh.com to send online condolences.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested for Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel.
