Carol A. Prince, age 80, of Corning, New York, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Guthrie Corning Hospital.
Born on June 15, 1945, in Corning, she was the daughter of James and Ila (McUmber) Sample. Carol was a member of the final graduating class of Northside High School in 1963.
Carol will be remembered as the ultimate mother and grandmother. Her quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering support were a constant source of comfort to her family. She stood by her children through lifes many challenges and helped raise her grandson with boundless love and dedication. She is the true definition of being selfless and sacrificial.
Despite the hardships she faced, Carol never let them define her. Even when she had little, she gave everything she could to help others. Her resilience was remarkable, you would never know if she was having a bad day, because she always chose to face life with strength and grace.
Carol loved so many things in life to do that they can not be summed up, for her, simply just sitting on the deck sipping her sun tea and chatting, or in her kitchen baking and cooking with the ones she loved. This is what truly made her smile. She was a shining example of kindness, perseverance, and unconditional love to all who knew her.
She is survived by her two children, Christopher Coats and Kimberly Prince, both of Corning; and by her beloved grandson, Zayden Prince of Corning; beloved cat, Maverick.
In accordance with Carol's wishes, there will be no services.
