Carole G. Ledwith

METHUEN, MA: Carole Jean (Gray) Ledwith, 87, passed away November 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was the wife to her late husband Robert D. Ledwith, to whom she was happily married for 61 years before God called him home on January 27, 2020.

Carole was born in Pittsburg, PA on February 2, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William Henry Gray and Rhoda (Croyle) Gray. After graduating from Shaler High School, Carole attended Slippery Rock College, but after three years she and Bob were married in Carole's grandparent's home. She finished her degree at Duquesne University and became a grade-school teacher in the town of Ipswich, MA. Later, she ran a daycare out of her home in Stoneham, MA, and then taught preschool at Hilltop Academy. Carole was a devout Christian and was active in her church community. While Carole was a member of several churches throughout her life, she called West Church in Haverhill, MA her home church.

Carole is survived by her children, Daniel R. Ledwith and wife Amanda, and their daughters Marjorie, Anna, and Ray, Rebecca Lynne Ledwith and her son Benjamin, and David William Ledwith and his sons Thomas and Elijah. She is also survived by her brothers Jim Gray, Fred Gray, and sister Linda (Gray) Williams and her husband Lee Williams. She was also the brother of the late Charles Gray and his wife Wendy Gray, and the aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service on Friday, December 12, at 11:00am at West Congregational Church, 767 Broadway, Haverhill, MA 01832.
