Carole Lewonczyk Obituary

On the evening of Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Carole Lewonczyk of Manchester, CT went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 69. Born on November 10, 1952 in New Britain, CT, she was the first of two children born to Joseph and Lucy Nevilas. She graduated from Newington High School in 1970 and went on to obtain her teaching degree from Central Connecticut State University. She met her first husband, Stanley Kaleta, in 1972 and they had two children, Steven Bricault and Michael Kaleta. When her husband passed away, she went on to be a secretary at Manchester Community College for 36 years. In 1985, she married her second husband, Daniel Lewonczyk, and in 1992, they welcomed their daughter Katie Leigh Lewonczyk to the family. Carole loved fashion. When she wasn't working, she loved shopping and putting together outfits. She appreciated different types of jewelry with unique colors and stones. She had a close relationship with her jeweler, Allison, who would help Carole pick out all the best pieces to compliment her personal style. Carole enjoyed the simple things in life and collected antiques to remind her of her childhood. She loved visiting places like Old Wethersfield, CT where it was peaceful, colorful, and calm. She said it always reminded her of taking a trip back in time. Carole was a very selfless person with a caring heart, sweet nature, and humble soul. She had a soft spot for dogs and was very close to her 6 Shih Tzu's, Maggie, Moxie, Escobar, Sophie, Clover, and Gwendolyn. Most of all, more than anything else in this world, Carole loved being a mother and she always put her children first. Everyone who met Carole could tell that she really was an angel on earth. Carole is survived by her husband, Daniel Lewonczyk, her sister Gail Nevilas of West Palm Beach, FL, her three children, Steven Bricault, Michael Kaleta, and Katie Leigh Lewonczyk of Manchester, CT, and her grandchildren, Madison Kaleta, Kimbella White, and Kaiden White. A memorial service will be held on November 10 at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home (400 Main Street in Manchester, CT) from 5pm-7pm. This will be followed by a funeral service on November 11 beginning at 11am at Messiah Lutheran Church (300 Buckland Road in South Windsor, CT). Carole was a fantastic friend. I was a student worker at MCC and Carole gave me a job assisting her in the advising office. She was the kindest person I've ever met and I'm sorry to learn of her passing. She will be missed dearly and I give my sympathies to her family.

To my beloved Sister, Carole... You made my life so much sweeter knowing that I could always pick up the phone and have a heartfelt conversation with you. It was very comforting to me. Even though we were miles apart, there was a special bond between us. I'm heartbroken that you're gone.
My sincere condolences to your family and friends and especially those who really loved you.
May you fly with the Angels without anguish or pain. I know you're with Jesus because that's where you belong. You were a beautiful and caring and lovely woman. I will always love you.

Dear Dan, Last Christmas and the Christmas before Covid, I enjoyed spending the afternoon with your wife, Carole, at a women's holiday party also with Kathy Bernard and Nancy Zurek. I met you and Carole at Nancy's Mom's funeral and at Shannon's wedding. There was another occasion in the past I am sure we met at Kathy Bernard's house. Carole was a lovely woman, sweet, social, big smile, who cared for her grandchild. I am very sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Barbara Dobrocki
