With heavy hearts, we must say goodbye to our cherished Catherine (Katie) Moran Lippman. Katie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 6th after an 18-year battle with breast cancer. She brought love and laughter to every interaction with the people who were lucky enough to know her. She loved rooting for her favorite teams, singing little songs, dancing around the room, and relaying funny stories from everyday life. We will miss her amazingly positive attitude, even while she faced significant adversity in battling her disease.
Katie met her match with Roger Lippman and married in 2003. Together, they settled back in Katie's hometown of New Providence, NJ and built their family. Being Devin's and Brian's mom was Katie's greatest joy. Watching her kids participate in sports, plays, and other school events was Katie's passion. She loved seeing them work at soccer, acting, photography, or golf to be the best that they could be, while enjoying the experience and making new friends.
Despite the difficulties of her battle with cancer, Katie jumped right in to help other women going through similar journeys with cancer. She worked with a local organization called Pathways. In this role, Katie helped other women navigate the various aspects required for cancer care, in addition to talking through the emotions and impacts on their families. Katie also was able to speak with medical students to provide the patient perspective to them as they embarked on their careers in the medical field to make them better advocates for their patients.
Katie grew up in New Providence, NJ, attending NPHS. She was an avid runner, joining both the Cross Country and Track teams during high school. Katie continued her running pursuits at Lafayette College in Easton, PA on the Cross Country and Track teams. While at Lafayette, Katie met some of her closest friends, who have remained a constant in each others lives since.
Katie is survived by her loving family; husband, Roger Lippman, daughter, Devin Lippman, son, Brian Lippman, and fur-baby, Eddie. She is also survived by her parents, Kathy and Gerry Moran; brother Pat Moran and wife Maryellen; brother Marty Moran; niece Kelly Taggart and her husband Ryan; and niece Meghan Moran.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave, Summit, NJ. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you please consider sending a donation to the Annual Campaign for Pathways (a cancer support program of The Connection in Summit, NJ) in memory of Katie using the attached link.
