CECIL PRICE JR., affectionately known as "Butch," peacefully passed, at home, on Friday, November 29, 2024. He was seventy-six years of age. Butch was the first born to Cecil Price, Sr. and Cora Lee (Cooke) Price on Monday, May 17, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio.
Cecil grew up on the east side of Columbus, in the Mt. Vernon area. He attended both South High School and East High School. After high school, Butch joined the Marine Corps in 1971, where he served faithfully for four years.
After the military, Cecil began his professional career with General Motors. As a tool and die maker, he engineered tools for specific cars and projects. Cecil retired from General Motors after thirty-one years of dedicated service. Butch enjoyed working with his hands. He indulged in woodwork, making furniture: rocking chairs, tables, personalized doll houses, etc. Working second shift at General Motors, allowed Butch to bowl and join bowling leagues. To stay in shape, he also went to the gym every day to workout.
In 1996, Cecil married the love of his life, Mary Simpson. They have enjoyed twenty-eight years of marriage.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sherri Price; stepson, Larry Simpson, Sr.; and his sister, Gayle Price. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Mary; son, Tony Price, Sr.; daughters, Stacy Price and Keisha (Roy) Holland; sister, Deborah Taylor; grandchildren, Jamilia Price, Janelle Price, Tony Price Jr., Tashae Price, and Tyshon Price; great grandson, Zion Price; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
Cecil's heart and family extended to include Mary's three children and their families: Latricia Wilson (Larry, deceased), their children, Larry Jr. (Amberia) and Mary, and one great grand; Gregory Simpson (deceased) and their children, Gregory II, Nathaniel (Arielle), and Brittany (Nawaph), and seven great grands from this branch; and Gary (Emma) and their children, Candace, David (Neena), and Rocky.Cecil and Roy had a very special relationship. Their love for one another was a brotherly love like none other. HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL..
