Charles Michael “Mike” Spears, Sr., 66, of Martinsville, passed away at home on September 5, 2024. He was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on February 17, 1958, to the late Raymond and Minnie (Rupe) Spears. Mike graduated from Arsenal Tech High School. He worked for Capital City Fence and owned a residential and commercial painting business for 20 years, Touch of Class Painting. 

Mike had an artistic talent. He could draw just about anything and mastered in writing poetry. Mike also enjoyed boxing and bowling in his free time. 

Survivors include his sons, Charles Spears, Jr. and Bradley Spears; sisters, Mildred Snyder, Minnie Hoskins (husband, Larry), and Holly Lewis; brothers, David Ray Spears and Mike Hicks-Spears; and grandsons, Nathaniel and Benjamin.

In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Thomas, James, Larry, David Shane, and Gary Spears. 

Final arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later date. Please visit www.CarlisleBranson.com to share a favorite memory or sign the online guest registry.
