Christine Cook Banks passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at home in Newtown, surrounded by her family. She was 77 years old.
Chris was the beloved wife of Robert Banks. They had been married for 55 years after meeting in Holgate on Long Beach Island in the summer of 1961.
Born in Rochester, NY, Chris was the daughter of J. Bartley and Christine Cook.
Chris graduated from Pennsbury High School and went on to receive degrees from York Junior College and Millersville University in Library Science. She worked for a data information company in Trenton, NJ.
Chris had a strong Christian faith and belonged to Addisville Reformed Church and Newtown Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the choir.
Chris enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her 8 grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips to the Bahamas, Hawaii and of course, family reunions on Long Beach Island.
In addition to her husband Bob, Chris is survived by her sons Robert and his wife Marci, Stephen and his wife Melissa and Kevin and his wife Maggie and her grandchildren, Erin, Kirsten, Sean, Ellie, Dyllan, Kaya, Alex and Sydney.
Relative and friends are invited to greet Chris' family on Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 10:00am, until the start of her Funeral Service at 11:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will take place privately, on a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National MS Society at PO Box 91891 in Washington, D.C. 20090-1891 or at www.nationalmssociety.org, or to Salvation Army at 615 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, VA 22314 or at www.salvationarmyusa.org.
