Christopher W. Keevins, a lifelong resident of Mahopac, NY passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at the age of 56. He was born in Manhattan on October 7, 1968, the son of Gerard and Margaret Wilson Keevins.
Chris graduated from Mahopac High School in 1986 and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Hofstra University in Health Care Administration. He was an Executive Vice President at Concentra Health Services, based in Secaucus, NJ.
Growing up, Chris played football at Mahopac High School and then Hofstra University. His love of football led him into coaching. He assisted his father at Mahopac for many years. He also coached at R.C. Ketcham High School for his brother, Patrick. Chris then went on to coach at Bronxville High School, Carmel High School and Our Lady of Lourdes High School. He also did a great deal in helping players get scholarships to play in college and has relationships with former players that last to today.
He is survived by his daughter, Meghan Keevins of Moses Lake, WA; his father, Gerard of Mahopac; his brother Patrick and his wife, Suzan of Beekman, NY, his sister, Debbie Sgaglio and her husband, Michael of Somers, NY and his four nieces, Aileen and Elizabeth Keevins and Lauren and Hannah Sgaglio. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret "Peggy" Keevins on October 22, 2018.
Following private cremation, visitation will be held on Monday, January 27 from 4-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 28 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac with entombment of cremains at St. Sebastian's Columbarium on the grounds of Our Lady of the Lakes/Mount Carmel Church, 1 Doherty Drive in Lake Carmel, NY.
