Connie L. Soldano, 90, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Eicher's Family Home surrounded by her family. She was born May 25, 1934, in Connellsville, the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Hampton and Edward Hampton. Connie was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church where she spent many years singing in the church choir and serving as a Eucharistic minister. She had many great accomplishes in her life. She graduated from California State College in 1980 with a Bachelor's in Science. She attended the University of Pittsburgh for postgraduate studies in 1982. She was inducted into Marquis Who's Who in America for all of her achievements. Connie worked as the fiscal officer and administrator of the Fayette County Health Center for many years then went on to work as the manager of the Masontown Senior Center and the Albert Gallatin Human Services Home Health Department until she retired in 1997. After retirement she focused on her love of sewing and opened her own alterations business while working part-time at the Somerset Sewing Center and Sew Special. Shé was a member of the Business and Professional Women and received special recognition form the Pennsylvania Commission for her work with the organization. Out of all of her achievements in life, the thing she was most proud of was her family. Family meant everything to her. She is survived by her children: Ken Soldano and his wife Marian Soldano of Somerset, and Cindy Baluch and her husband Joe Baluch, of Connellsville; grandchildren: Linda Swank and her husband Jeremy Swank of Somerset, Alison Cestello and her husband Michael Cestello of Greensburg, and Brittany Johnson and her husband Thomas Johnson of Connellsville; great-grandchildren: Noah Swank of Somerset, Sadie Swank of Somerset, Joseph Johnson of Connellsville, and Thomas Johnson of Connellsville; Step-son: Nick Soldano and his wife Susan of California; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and one brother: Edward Jerry Hampton II of Michigan. Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Nick Soldano in 1997; Son Terry Soldano in 2010, Step-daughter Elizabeth "Betty" Garrison in 2019, and Step-daughter Margaret "Peggy" Zadell in 2022. Connie had many joys in life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, crafting, and traveling. She loved going to the beach. She will be greatly missed by all she has touched. Family and friends will be received for a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church on Thursday at 12:30 P.M.( Everyone go directly to the church). Private Interment to follow. Connie's family would like to give a special thanks to Eicher's Family Home for the excellent care they gave to Connie and how hard they worked to make her feel at home.
