Cynthia Sue Phillips

Cynthia Sue Phillips has now returned to the arms of my Heavenly Father who created me and gave me the gift of life through Lester C. and Florence Ann Phillips of South Bend Indiana. Cynthia was born on July 18, 1933, when the Studebaker whistle blew at noon.
Her parents also had a son, Lester and a daughter, Ann, who both passed in early infancy.
Cynthia attended Studebaker Elementary and James Whitcomb Riley High School where she played piano with the student orchestra. Later, she attended Hillsdale College where she majored in music and Michigan State University where she obtained her master's degree in music education.
As a piano accompanist, Cynthia had the privilege of playing for many vocal and dance performing groups and soloists. At St. Paul's Methodist Church in South Bend, Indiana, Mount Hope Methodist Church, and Mount Hope International Church in Lansing, Michigan. She was given the opportunity to work with children's choirs and to participate in church worship services.
Teaching kindergarten in Perry and Lansing school districts was an honor to Cynthia and her life's work.
After retiring in 1997, Cythina has the extra time for gardening, writing, and her love for animals.
Many friends were of unspeakable influence and help to Cythina - a deep blessing in her life with an abundance of help and love.
To God be the glory! Thank you, my Heavenly Father, to Jesus, the Lamb of God – who changed her life and the Holy Spirit, who led me in God's truth, I give my deepest love!
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, October 31st., 12:00 noon, at Mt. Hope Church with Pastor Dave Williams officiating. Visitation will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. Cynthia will be interred next to her parents in Sumption Prairie Cemetery, 60901 Sumption Trail, South Bend, Indiana. The family is being served by the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel.
