Dallas Charles Dupree passed away peacefully at his residence on July 16, 2024, at the age of 28. He was born on May 15, 1996, in Metairie, Louisiana, to Eldridge Brett Dupree and Nichole Mathieu Dupree (Donald).
He is preceded in death by his father, Eldridge Brett Dupree, and his paternal grandparents, Arthur Dupree, Sr., and Lucille Dupree. He is survived by his mother, Nichole Dupree Donald; step-father, John Donald III; step-sister, Karrington Donald; aunts, Nektar Hamilton Barnes (Martin) and Tonya Hamilton Lenoir (Kenneth); uncles, Rene Issac Dupree, Arthur Dupree, Jr., and Duane Donald; maternal grandparents, Charles Hamilton, Jr., and Patricia Wade Hamilton; step-father's mother, Flora Donald; caregiver and 2nd-mom, Belinda Dawson and a host of great aunts and uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Dallas attended Uptown Learning Center, Alice M. Harte Charter School, Truman Middle School, and West Jefferson High School. He enjoyed attending various summer camps, including Camp Rainbow and LSU Camp Tiger.
Known by several nicknames (D, Double D, Dal, Big D, Smoobie, and Buck), Dallas loved listening to music and watching television. His musical interest was Kenny G. As a baby, the only way he would sleep was by driving in the car and listening to Kenny G. Whenever he heard Michael Jackson, he would start kicking his legs, thinking he was Bad. His favorite television programs and cartoons were Elmo's 123 Count with Me (5 5 5 No Jive), The Lion King, Finding Nemo, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, SpongeBob, and Scooby-Doo. His sports interests included tennis, ice skating, basketball, and football (you can guess where he got his name from).
Dallas had a beautiful smile, an infectious laugh, and eyelashes that were the envy of all women. His style was always sharp and clean. At daycare, he was voted best dressed in his Gymboree matching outfits. As he grew older, you could always catch Dallas in a fresh Polo.
Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, therapists, and personal care assistants at Pediatric Health Choice, Acts Home Health, JMS Caring Services, Exceeds Their Needs, Children's Hospital, Ochsner Medical Center, and LSU Healthcare Network for their excellent care and services provided to Dallas over the years.
