Daniel C. "Danny" Marks passed away On Thursday, July 4 at his home in Latonia, Kentucky. Danny was born to Charles Nyland & Katherine Lee (nee Crowe) Marks on April 1, 1949 in Covington, Kentucky. It was no April Fools' joke when Danny entered the world weighing nearly 13 lbs. Danny was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived and loved by many family and friends, including his sister-in law (Janet Marks), Nephews - Mark (Sue) Kolkmeier, Steve (Susan) Kolkmeier, Mike (Buckets) Marks, Jeff Marks, Kevin (Karen) Marks, and Nieces - Kim Jones, Lisa (Howard) Moloy, and Amy (David) Ladd. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and acquaintances made thru the years at Sparrow and Newton's Men's Hair Styling shop. He had a few regular stops in the course of his daily routine, and made many friends, and left lasting impressions on all those he encountered. As his life's work, he was employed in the computer room at Western & Southern for nearly 39 years. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim Marks, his sister Eileen Kolkmeier and brother-in-law Jim Kolkmeier, and many aunts and uncles From an early age Danny had a fascination with cars, and he had a particular fondness for Classic Cars, including his Corvette. He took great pride in all of his cars thru the years, starting with his "custom" 1959 Oldsmobile and continuing right on up to his 2023 Nissan Altima SR. He believed in a clean ride, and it was rare to see him driving a dirty car. There will be a celebration of life for Danny on Tuesday, July 16 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Don Catchen & Sons Funeral Home where family and friends can share their favorite stories and memories of Danny. This will be immediately followed by a burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Mitchell. In recognition of Danny's love of Classic Cars, it would be a great tribute to see his friends drive their classic cars to the Funeral Home and Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org), The Covington Catholic Class of 1968 Scholarship Fund (https://covcath.thankyou4caring.org/memorial-donation), or to a charity of the donor's choosing.
