Danny Jones Obituary

Danny is survived by his brother, David N. Jones of Scottsdale, Arizona; and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Charles F. Jones and Jerry L. Jones; his two sisters: Shirley A. Coleman and Sandra K. Stinson Stewart; and his soulmate of 32 years, Michael P. Hedge.
Danny, a proud graduate of Decatur Central High School in 1965, embarked on a journey of service and dedication after attending Good Samaritan Hospital Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Technician School and Indiana Mortuary College. His over 20 years of impactful work at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix and the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, exemplified his commitment to helping others. As a founder and board member of Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, Indiana, Danny's legacy of compassion and service continued to flourish.
His leadership extended into the community, where he served as President of the Decatur Township Republican Club, a precinct committeeman, and an Election Inspector for Decatur Township.
Danny's service in the United States Army as a Medical Specialist 5 in the 2nd Infantry Division-stationed in the Korean Demilitarized Zone during the Vietnam Era-showcases his bravery and dedication. More specifically, he was distinguished as an Imjin Scout. Imjin Scouts were soldiers who participated in dangerous missions in the DMZ that separated North and South Korea from 1965 to 1991. He was honorably discharged on May 17, 1968, at Fort Carson, Colorado, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and inspiration.
Per Danny's wishes, cremation arrangements have been scheduled in Arizona.
