Born on April 1, 1959, in Maury County, Tennessee, Danny was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy Owens. He graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1977 and went on to become a talented and respected mechanic. He proudly owned and operated both Danny Owens Diesel Service and Radd Trucking Company for over 20 years, earning a reputation for his skill, dependability, and generous spirit.
Danny had a big heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was known for his love of westerns—especially Gunsmoke—and was a familiar face at Shoney’s, where he had his own regular table shared with family. He also adored his cats, Tom, Roscoe, and Paws, who brought him great comfort and companionship. In his later years, he found joy in golfing with friends.
Danny is survived by his daughter, Kena Sisk (Jason Tate) of Santa Fe; brother, David (Jennie) Owens of Columbia; grandchildren, Kayla Sisk, Karley (Caleb) Burdette, and Kassie Sisk; and great-grandchildren, Carson Burdette, Zoey Sisk, Kaiden Burdette, and Olivia Borland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynette Owens, and his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Patsy Owens.
Honorary pallbearers include Donald and Nancy Taylor, Derrick Poovey, Charlotte Himes, and all his friends at D & D Towing.
