It is with full sorrow that we announce the passing of Daryl William Wascom, age 69, on June 10, 2025. Daryl was born on October 2, 1955. He was a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a resident of Zachary, Louisiana. Daryl graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor's degree in industrial technology. He faced medical challenges as a young man, but always kept his head held high and persevered through the obstacles he faced making him the strong man he was. Daryl was an avid collector of cars and could always be found tinkering in the garage. He was a night owl and would spend his nights working on his projects and enjoying his time at home. Daryl was a devoted husband and father and loved his family and his pup, Buddy, with everything in his being. He will forever be missed by all who knew him.
Daryl survives by his loving wife of 23 years, Valarie Wascom; daughter, Jessica Wascom Hansel (Chris); Stepsons, Darrin Delatte and Nicholas Delatte (Rachel); grandchildren, Joshua Stratton, Jase Stratton, Audrey Delatte; Brother, Brad Wascom; sister-in-law, Lisa Wascom, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Daryl is preceded in death by his parents, Loretta and Dr.BW Wascom and his brother, Wendell Kyle Wascom.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation at the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home in Hammond on Friday, June 13th at 10:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Internment to follow at New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
