Dave was a crucial part of our wedding planning and officiated it for us 7 years ago. He didn't know it then, but he had a residual impact on our marriage. To this day, we remember him as a light who guided us and helped us to understand that spirituality and having a higher power does not have a "one-size fits all" approach. He showed us how he lived as a kind person, making beer and honey and riding his bike in town & in turn-loving God. He lived each day exuding this without ever having to open his mouth. We will always remember and have a huge place in our hearts for Dave. Our thoughts go out to his wife who he talked about often and loved very much.

Dave came into my life 20 years ago and left a permanent memory. His first impression was less than overwhelming. The long pony tail and less than casual appearance belied the wonderful image this man's soul possessed. Dave attended the Circle of Faith Sunday School class for a brief time and awed the class with his ability to recite Bible passages chapter and verse. He had a phenomenal mind and a kind spirit. It did not take Dave long to endear himself to our class and others in our congregation who came to know him. Dave approached Becki Kahl and my self with the idea of starting a Stephen's Ministry within our church. We followed upon on his suggestion and attended Stephen Leader training and offered classes for yhose interested in becoming Stephen Ministers. Both Dave and Nancy became Stephen's Ministers and were perfect fits for becoming caregivers. Both had serving hearts. Dave became a Stepen's Leader soon after and was a huge help with the administration of the program. Dave and Nancy led a frugal live style which was a wonderful example of how simple living can be an inspiration to others. At one time on their "Bucket List" they wanted to construct a yurt in Northern Michigan and live off the land in the wild north land. They are the people who taught me the meaning of yurt. Dave will be missed and Nancy has my deepest sympathy as we grieve his passing.

Was so sorry to see this announcement. Nancy, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Dave was an amazing person and co worker. He radiated joy in every single converstation I ever had with him. Smart, funny, talented, passionate... are just a few words that I would use to describe him. RIP Dave. The world is a better place because of your time here.

My sympathies to Nancy and the rest of Dave's family. Dave's presence in my life was an inflection point for me. He lifted me spiritually, mentored me professionally, and.most of all, he was my friend. I loved Dave. I could always count on him to make me laugh and pray for me when times were hard.I'll miss you DOG (Depend on God). Peppermint Patty

The beauty and richness of a life lived in the richness of God's Glory. Though I did not meet Dave this side of Heaven but know him through Sarah..will be in fellowship for eternity.

My sympathies to Dave's family on his too-soon transition to the other side - at Roche, he was that ideal combination of being good at what he did and being fun to work with, and he was always willing to share some wisdom. Dave left many fond memories with those he knew, and I hope you all can treasure those, knowing he awaits your arrival hopefully many years from now.

Dave and I worked together for many years at Roche, but he was a friend as well as a coworker. He was always entertaining and a joy to work with. My fellow "lab rats" and I could write a book of Dave stories. Sadly, we lost touch when he retired, but I thought about him often. RIP Dave. You were one of the good ones.

Dave Ashmore was more than a friend to my family. He was a beacon of light and understanding, shining forth with the faith that we sometimes failed to see. He could make me feel the presence of Jesus with just his smile. Thank you David, more than you know❤
