Mr. Bayersdorfer was my favorite teacher. He made learning fun and knew how to connect with teenagers. He could always engage us through his great sense of humor. I was able to reschedule travel plans to attend his service and I just wanted his family to know how beautiful it was. You did an incredible job honoring him and I'm sure he was beaming from above. Sending healing to all of you.

Dave was one of the first colleagues to welcome me to HVRHS. I loved talking to him, and he was a great listener. He gave so much support to the arts at HVRHS during and after his retirement, and his worked helped touch the lives of so many young people. I'm so thankful to have had you in my life, Dave.

When I was a freshmen at HVRHS back in March of 2011, I was in the Housatonic Musical Theatre Society's production of Guys and Dolls. Mr. Bayersdorfer was in the show too as police Lieutenant Brannigan. We had a lot of fun together. After that, every time I saw him in the hallway during school, I'd say "Hello Lieutenant!" and he would smile.

It was a pleasure to serve on the 21st Century Fund Board with Dave, and to be his colleague at HVRHS. He was a wonderful role model for his students, showing all of us how to be a champion of civic duty. He will be missed by many of us in the community.
