While Family and Friends hearts are completely broken, we know that David Lynn Pack on March 7, 2024, at the age of 81, entered his new home in heaven to be with and rejoice with his Lord and Savior Jesus. This fact gives us great peace and comfort.
He was born on April 17, 1942 to Danny and Sylvia Pack. They named him David, which in Hebrew means beloved friend. A perfect name because he would become to so many a beloved friend. He is survived by three siblings Rhonda, Dean, and Randy.
David married the love of his life, his rare orchid and beauty Alma Peck in 1961 and they spent the next 62 years in love and building their impressive legacy together. Still flirting till the end by leaving her messages as her Handsome Stranger. He loved her very much, and would say there is nothing too good for her or that he didn’t deserve her. He loved his two children Sherie Brown which he shared an interest in poetry with, a side of him few knew, and Timothy Pack which he taught many life lessons and in him created a lifelong love for the outdoors. He was proud of their professional careers and more importantly the character in which they lived their lives and raised their families. David loved his daughter- in- law Teresa Pack and their conversations of God, and of course enjoyed the great meals prepared for our family.
David loved each amazing grandchild Jourdan, Christopher, Lyndsi, Blake, and Konnor with cherished memories of each one. He loved and enjoyed being around his great-grandchildren Novalee, Kynlee, Mia, Monroe, Rhys, and Rhyder.
David could not have loved Brad Bane, Bryan Bane, and Blake Bane anymore if they were his own sons. He loved Sue “Boo-Boo” Meadows, and Nicole like granddaughters. He had so many close and loving relationships with brother and sister in-laws and extended family members that will miss him terribly.
David provided well for his family working and then retiring from the Federal Mining Safety and Health Administration as a Supervisor in Pineville, WV. He reflected many times, stating that he was very proud of the important work they had done, and how much his work family meant to him.
David was blessed with the best neighbors, which were always so kind and thoughtful. There would always be some delicious dessert sent over to the house by Sheila. David had many friends over the years that have added to the quality of his life and brought great joy and cherished memories to my Dad. My mother and family thanks you all.
We all miss you David, everyone’s beloved friend, but to some of us so much more….
