David was born February 18, 1963 in Syracuse, New York. He was a very proud graduate of Holy Cross School and the Holy Cross Basketball program. He was also a graduate of Aquinas Institute, class of 1981. Grew up on DeVille Dr. with a large Powers/McCorry family, and many friends, who he still played cards with every year. He lived in Pompano Beach, Florida before marrying Colleen O'Keefe in 1988. They lived their life on Forgham Rd in Greece while adding John, Sheila, Marlie(dog) and Payton(dog) to their family. David loved attending both of his kids sporting events, watching his favorite sports teams on the couch and rocking out at concerts. He became a Grandfather to Shailene and Jameson, enriching his later years with more unconditional love and happiness. After a 10 week battle David passed away surrounded by his family. The Powers family would like to thank the entire staff of the CTICU at RGH for the compassionate care that they provided for David.
Any donations can be made to Shailene and Jameson College Fund that David started the day he became Rah.
