His Legacy David Dean Trapp, 72, passed away March 11, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1952, in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Marvin Trapp and Edna (Wongstrom) Trapp. He graduated from Dexter High School in 1971. He was a proficient heavyweight wrestler in high school. David married the love of his life, Lauri Kristola, on March 28, 1987, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He spent his career at both Wilson Marine as a marine mechanic followed by Detroit Diesel as a diesel emissions technician. David was also a talented carpenter and cabinetmaker; he made beautiful furniture with meticulous detail. He had a passion for the mountains; it was his happy place. He spent many years hiking and camping in the mountains with his best friend Jeff and also with his family for 2 weeks every summer. David was an avid photographer and loved to photograph his mountain adventures and natures beauty, and enjoyed fishing in his later years. Church was very important to David and his faith was a big part of his life. David was an incredible family man, his loved ones meant everything to him. David was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
His Family David will be missed by his wife, Lauri Trapp; his children, Stephanie (Jesse) Forsyth, Spencer (Lauren) Trapp; brother, Daniel (Cindy) Trapp; grandchildren, Noah, Quinn, Caleb, Levi, Issac, Micah, Asher; one grandchild on the way; and best friend, Jeffrey Sangster. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Edna Trapp.
His Farewell David's family and friends will gather Friday, March 21, 2025, from 10AM-11AM, at St. John Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan. His Community Farewell will follow at 11AM. Pastor John Gierach will serve as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church or Livingston County Animal Control. I´m so sorry to hear of Dave´s passing. He was a good man. We went to high school together. Glad to hear of his good family life.

Lauri, so sorry to hear this very sad news. Prayers for you and your family. Always remember him coming into Lake Chemung office on Fridays with pay check. Always a smile on his face.
