In Loving Memory of David Allen Turner
November 29, 1968-October 2, 2023
David Turner, a devoted son, loyal brother, loving husband, dedicated father, and cherished grandpa, passed away on October 2, 2023 in Lexington, Kentucky, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 54 years old.
David is survived by his wife, Denise, sons, Carrick (Chloe), Evan (Marquie), and Ben, four grandchildren, Walker, West (Carrick) and Charlie, Peyton (Evan), his mother, Mary Rainey Cobb, sisters, Debbie (Donald) Kircher, and Billie Jo (Dave) Bush, and step brother, Donnie Cobb. David was preceded in death by his father William "Billy" Earl Turner and stepfather John Cobb.
David was a loving husband to his beloved wife of 26 years, Denise Turner. As a father, David was unwavering in his commitment to his three sons, Carrick, Evan, and Ben. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and enjoyed every moment he spent with them. David's love, knowledge, and guidance will continue to shape their lives.
David was also a proud grandpa to four grandchildren, Walker and West (Carrick), Charlie and Peyton (Evan) whom he adored dearly. He cherished the time he spent with them, creating lasting memories with his family and imparting parental wisdom that will be treasured forever.
David graduated from Owen County and the University of Kentucky. Professionally, David was a dedicated and hardworking employee of Toyota for 27 years. He was known for his diligence and commitment to his work, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and supervisors alike.
In his leisure time, David had a passion for golf, fishing and football. He especially enjoyed sharing his passions while spending time with his sons. David loved exploring new restaurants with his beloved wife and was an excellent cook who took pleasure in preparing delicious meals for his family. His backyard was a canvas where he poured his creativity, creating a beautiful space for relaxation and enjoyment.
David Turner was a man of kindness, generosity, and integrity. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his warm smile, witty humor, and welcoming spirit. David's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A visitation service to celebrate David's life will be held on Sunday, October 8th, from 2-4 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 East Main Street, Lexington, KY. A private funeral for the family will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of David's memory.
