Very sorry to see this. I worked with David for about 2 years at St. Catharine College. He was a great guy and very well liked by students. They learned a lot from his classes. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.

David was one of the funniest people I've ever met. I worked with him for over 10 years at St. Catharine College. He was also one of the most popular professors on campus with students. He will be missed.

Dinner with David and Sheila, be it an ordinary get-together supper or high holiday scripted feast like a seder, always invited a discussion of history and memory and, ahem, current affairs, including religion, for better or worse, in America. We will miss David's erudite and sweet, if eccentric, person and soul. We know David now rests in eternal peace. - Christopher & Dennis

May his memory be a blessing. Sara and I grew up together and "Sara's Dad" was a constant for our many chaperone needs over the many years that Sara and I were Girl Scouts. He was soft spoken and so kind, always with a book in hand, which added to my admiration.

Dr. Wallace was one of my professors at St. Catharine College and also inducted me into Phi Theta Kappa. He had a huge impact on me and as an instructor myself now I share some of his pearls of wisdom with my students. I guess his legacy will live on in future students in this way. My prayers to the family.

David was one of my first professors and friend at St. Catharine. He was so much fun to be on stage together. I'm grateful for getting to know him and that quick wit he had. He will be missed.

Dr. Wallace was one of my professors at St. Catharine College back in 1994 - 95. I loved his classes and we had many lively discussions. He couldn´t be found in his office, instead beside a tall stack of books in the cafeteria. What a sight to behold. RIP Dr. Wallace and know that you were loved.
