I worked with Dave at OSU until I retired in 2016. He was a kind and compassionate man who always had a smile on his face. I was blessed to have known him and am so sad at his passing.

Dave was a good friend to me when I was living in Ohio in the late 70s and early 80s. I loved playing music with him and listening to him perform. He gave the world, among many other gifts, a lot of good music. Though I saw him infrequently over the last few decades, each meeting reminded me of his joyful, loving spirit. He was a fine man.
