Dawn Sharon Lantz

Dawn Sharon Lantz, age 64, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on October 02, 2025. Dawn was born on June 20, 1961, in Pontiac, Michigan to parents George and Emma Rhyndress. Though she faced many trials in life, she found her greatest strength and peace in her faith.
She is survived by her children, Jenifer (Donte Bonds) Robison, Jodi Robison, and Jamie McCartney, and her two cherished grandchildren, Luke and Vanessa Stine. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, Emma and George Rhyndress, and her siblings Ronald Rhyndress and Kathy Hubbard. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Patricia Bodi, Darlene Townsend, and Janet Bailey, and her brother Gary Rhyndress.
Dawn graduated from Adult Education in 1993 and later attended Lansing Community College with her daughter Jodi, where she took classes in American Sign Language.
She had many passions throughout her life collecting Beanie Babies, porcelain dolls, Precious Moments figurines, and memorabilia of Dale Earnhardt and Princess Diana. Like her family before her, Dawn shared a love for racing and proudly raced number 22. She also loved crafting with her daughter Jamie and found joy in her creative projects.
Throughout her life, Dawn worked various jobs she enjoyed, including with the Lansing Lugnuts, Meijer, and as a Tupperware and Avon dealer.
But above all, Dawn's heart belonged to her Savior. She was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and a long-time member of the Lake Orion Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her faith deepened in her later years as she turned fully to God for strength, comfort, and purpose. She especially loved attending Women's Christian Camp with her daughter Jenifer, where she found peace, prayer, and fellowship with other women of faith.
Dawn's journey was not easy, but her story is one of redemption and grace. She faced her final days with courage, leaning on the promises of God and trusting that her pain would one day be replaced by eternal rest.
She will be remembered for her perseverance, her renewed faith, and her belief that no matter how far we wander, God is always waiting to welcome us home.
A celebration of life for Dawn will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 10:00 am at Orion Oxford Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 120 Manitou Ln, Lake Orion, Michigan, 48362.
