Diane M. O'Shasky, age 77, of Rudolph, WI passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
A Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 31, 2025 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Rudolph. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at All Souls Cemetery in Rudolph. Visitation will be held at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass at the church.
Diane was born May 26, 1947 in Wisconsin Rapids to Herbert and Ann (Molepske) Ruder. She graduated from Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids and the Madison Academy of Beauty Culture. She married Thomas O'Shasky on June 17, 1967 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids.
Diane worked as a beautician at Beauty Aire and Barnitz Beauty Salon in Wisconsin Rapids. When her daughters were born, she became a full-time mom. After her daughters graduated high school, she returned to work and retired from Younkers.
Diane was a vibrant soul known for her love of life, wildlife, and Christmas. She had a discerning eye for style and design, often refurbishing furniture, crafting unique pieces of jewelry, and continuously updating the decor in her home. She was an avid gardener and a devoted caretaker, feeding and rehabilitating birds and other local wildlife. Diane was also known for her love of Christmas trees, one year decorating her home with an impressive 29 trees. She cherished fishing trips and time spent at the family cottage, and she had a soft spot for babysitting family dogs. Those who were fortunate enough to know Diane will remember her fondly for her 'foo foo' stylish martinis, always garnished beautifully.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; two daughters: Charissa (Larry) Lager and Leigh (Jeffrey) Bouchard; six grandchildren: Holten Peters, Jonathan Lager, Tristan Lager, Waylon Bouchard, Josalina Bouchard, and Arianna Bouchard; brother Daniel Ruder; in-laws: Mary Kay Ruder, Jacki (Jim) Molepske, Vicki Tork, Sue O'Shasky, and Donnie O'Shasky; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Edward and Lucille O'Shasky; brothers-in-law, Eddie O'Shasky and Ken Tork; and sister-in-law, Rhonda O'Shasky.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Edenbrook of Wisconsin Rapids for their care and compassion and to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice for their end-of-life care.
