Dolores C. Zizza, a beacon of love and intelligence, guided by her unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024, at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. Born in East Boston, MA, Dolores was a cherished sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and wisdom touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Dolores spent her formative years in East Boston, where her bright mind and caring spirit were nurtured. She was a proud alumna of East Boston High School and furthered her education at Emmanuel College, where she honed her intellect and passion for helping others. For over forty years, she made her home in Canton, where she became an integral part of the community.
Her professional life was a testament to her commitment to service and education. Dolores dedicated many years to the Boston Public Schools as a School Psychologist, where her guidance and insights helped shape the lives of countless students. In addition to her invaluable work in education, Dolores pursued a career in real estate. She brought her characteristic diligence and integrity to Pratt Real Estate and Century 21 Gilmore earning the respect and trust of clients and colleagues alike.
Dolores was known for her active involvement in various associations and her pursuit of interests that reflected her zest for life. She was a proud member of the Hyannis Yacht Club, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and the serene beauty of the sea. Her commitment to her faith was evident through her role as a longtime active parishioner of St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Her presence there was a source of comfort and inspiration to the parish community.
Family was the cornerstone of Dolores's life. She is survived by her beloved sister Elayne Scarcella and her husband Ross of Canton, and she was a cherished memory in the hearts of her late sister Marie Penta and husband Vincent. Dolores was a devoted aunt to Marisa Coughlin and her fiancé Michael Evans of Winchendon, Meredith Barbahlo and her husband Daniel of Atlanta, David Scarcella and his wife Susan of GA, and she held a special place in her heart for her late nephew Gregg Penta. The legacy of her love and wisdom will live on through her six great-nieces and nephews, who will continue to be guided by her enduring spirit.
Those who knew Dolores will remember her as a loving and intelligent woman, whose faith-filled life was a testament to her strength and compassion. Her laughter, her thoughtful words, and her ability to see the good in every situation will be dearly missed by all.
Dolores C. Zizza's life was a journey of love, learning, and faith. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she left on our lives. Though she may have departed from this earthly realm, her spirit remains a guiding light, encouraging us to live with kindness, wisdom, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of people.
As we reflect on her life, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on so many. Dolores's legacy is one of love, service, and an unshakeable faith that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been part of her journey. Her memory will be cherished, and her lessons will be carried forward by those who loved her. Rest in peace, Dolores; your life was a blessing to us all.
