Elaine Marie "Nanny" Schatzle passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana at the age of 82. She was born on August 24, 1942, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, to the late Robert and Lanny Hebert Schatzle. Elaine loved her beloved pets, Daisy and Dixie. She enjoyed being outdoors tending to her flowers and her garden. Elaine was a past president of the Ladies KCs in Ponchatoula. She was known as a feisty lady who could debate with anyone and a firebug when she was out and about in the yard.

Elaine is survived by her nephew, Kyle Schatzle; nephew-in-law, Billy Sonnier; great-nephew, Liam Sonnier; great-niece, Kenley Sonnier; sister-in-law, Beverly Schatzle; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Lanny Hebert Schatzle; brother, Kenneth Schatzle; and her niece, Marcy Sonnier.

Family and friends will be received at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 255 North 8th Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father McDuffy officiating.
