Eleanor Cremeans, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025. She was born on April 7, 1937 in Harts, West Virginia. She was the loving and caring daughter of Gillis and Mabel (Ellis) Adams.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her son Richard and her beloved husband of 63 years, Bill Cremeans. Together, Bill and Ellie maintained an exceptional relationship centered on devotion, friendship and faith. She is survived by her sons Michael (Jeannie) and Gary (Jeanne) Cremeans, daughter Kimberly (Scott) Tuchek, and daughter-in-law Nancy Cremeans; grandchildren Justin (Heidi) and Matthew (Kirstie) Cremeans, Megan (Rob) Binnie, Alissa (Vince) Sitkowski, Michaela (Josh) Fegan, Jillian (Zac) Coleman and Josie (fiancé-Kyle McCaffrey) Cremeans and great-grandchildren, Ezra, Adelaide, Marek, Zoey, Peyton, Lincoln, Oliver, Henry, Lily, Piper and Emory. Ellie will be missed by her sister-in-law Carolyn (Ernie) Petrovich, her numerous nieces and nephews, and by the staff and her fellow residents at Brookdale South in Medina. Her quick wit, smile, caring soul and zest for life will forever be cherished.
Ellie was employed as the store manager of Discount Drug Mart in Brunswick and later in Medina until her retirement in 1987. She had previously worked as a librarian at Edwards Middle School North House within the Brunswick School District. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crafting and baking. She had a special fondness for trains and taking road trips with Bill. She also enjoyed gospel music and Christian comedy.
Whether through her relationship with Bill, upbringing of her children or through personal connections made along the way, Ellie's faith was the core of her life. She was a long-time member of the Women's Community Bible Study group. She had an eagerness to share what she learned. She was unwavering in trust that (1 Corinthians 2:9) "no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." It is true, Ellie, "God is good".and your life amongst us is a living testament to His goodness!
The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookdale Medina South for five years of compassionate and exceptional care offered to Ellie. Additionally, we wish to thank The Hospice of The Western Reserve who provided her comfort and support over the last couple weeks.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Rd., Medina, OH 44256. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Carlson Funeral Home in Medina with Pastor Tom O'Connell officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens, 2869 Grafton Rd. in Brunswick.
