Elizabeth L. (Cutter) Capaldo, "Betty", age 90, of Billerica, MA, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, with her loving family at her side.
Betty was born on June 29, 1934, in
Wilmington, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Harry J. Cutter and Elizabeth (Gracie) Cutter. Betty was one of three sisters who were raised in a loving home in Wilmington; she attended Wilmington Schools and was a graduate of Wilmington High School.
Betty married the "love of her life" Louis J. Capaldo Jr. "Biffie" on July 4,1954; the couple shared over 70 amazing years together, raised a beautiful family, and made countless wonderful memories to be shared for generations to come.
Betty was a hard worker; for many years she was a cafeteria aid for the Ditson Elementary School in Billerica. Betty was very kind and gentle to the children; her endearing personality made her a favorite among the students as well as the faculty at the school.
Betty had a joyous smile that would light up any room. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty devoted her life to her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She was affectionately known as "Ma" to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She spent most of her days knitting, crocheting, playing cards, completing word searches, and playing Bingo at the Billerica Elks.
Betty enjoyed summers at Hampton Beach with Marlene, Frankie, Sharon, Peggy, Ann, and Booker. Betty looked forward to her yearly trips to Sanibel Island with her husband Biffie, and her friends Sammy and Rosemarie. She spent many summers camping at Beach Acres in Wells, Maine where she met many friends along the way. She enjoyed sitting by the campfire, going to the beach and pool, leading the bicycle parade, helping with raffles, and participating in many potlucks.
Betty enjoyed having coffee with friends at Auntie Patsy's house. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband of 70 years, as well as her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family meant the world to her, and she loved every moment spent with them. Our "Ma" was greatly loved, will be deeply missed, and will live forever in our hearts.
