Elizabeth "Beth" Kellin Fodor, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 31, 2025, in
Greensboro, North Carolina. Born in Evanston, Illinois, on December 31, 1950, Beth graced this world with her presence for 74 years.
Beth spent her childhood in Evanston, Illinois, surrounded by her four siblings and a multitude of friends. Her formative years were imbued with a sense of adventure and freedom, traits that continued to define her spirit throughout her life. After living in Chicago, she ventured to Colorado, Georgia, and Florida before finally settling in North Carolina.
Beth had an innate talent for nurturing life. Her green thumb was evident in the countless plants and flowers she took pride in nursing back to health. Her volunteer work at animal shelters and wildlife centers further showcased her deep love for all living creatures, a passion she lovingly passed on to her daughter.
A free spirit in her youth, Beth lived life to the fullest. She touched the lives of many with her genuine nature, radiant smile, and generous heart. People were drawn to her calm and loving spirit, often remarking on her beauty inside and out. Ever the people-pleaser, she gave selflessly to those in need, never hesitating to share all that she had.
Preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Betty Kellin, sisters-in-law Mary Kellin and Rita Kellin, and adored companions, her dog, Cleo, and cats Ming & Manx.
Beth leaves behind a family who will cherish her memory: her devoted daughter Emily Coleman and son-in-law Seth; her treasured grandchildren Fiona, Maya, and Asher; her "Big Brother" Bill Kellin, younger brother John Kellin and his wife Shelby, younger sister Martha Lockhart, "Baby Sister" Maryjane Wrenn and her husband Bruce, and many nieces and nephews.
Beth's final wish was to be "Rocky Mountain High" with her ashes laid to rest in her beloved Rocky Mountains in Colorado, a testament to her free spirit and love for nature's beauty. Though no services will be held at this time, donations may be made in her honor at humanebroward.com, to sponsor a trip for a group of adoptable dogs to visit a dog water park with the Broward Humane Society -a fitting tribute to a woman who held such profound love for animals.
Beth found great pleasure in simple things such as tulip season, the art of Claude Monet, classic black & white movies from Hollywood's golden era, the music of John Denver, The Mamas & the Papas, and the Beatles, frozen thin mints, peanut m&ms, peppermint patties, and meatloaf (the food not the musician, as she would say) Her talented mother's magnificent artwork always held a special place in her heart.
A very special thank you is extended to her hospice nurse, Kelly. Beth's daughter is forever grateful for the phenomenal care and comfort she provided over the last year of her mother's life.
