Eloise Lois Riche Vidal passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Sage Lake Senior Living in Covington, LA at

the age of 90 following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

She was born on July 30, 1935 in New Orleans, the daughter of the late Olivia Roques Riche and Desire Julian "Bernard" Riche and the sister of six older brothers who preceded her in death: Cedric F. Riche, Elwood R. Riche, Calvin P. Riche, Roy E. Riche, Lloyd A. Riche, and Claude B. Riche. She attended St. Cecilia Grammar School and was a 1953 graduate of the Academy of the Holy Angels. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Edward Vidal, Jr. for 47 years, residing in Arabi, St. Bernard Parish, for 45 years and relocating to Madisonville, St. Tammany Parish, following Hurricane Katrina.

Loving mother of seven children: Danna M. Acker, Joseph E. Vidal, III (Phyllis Quirk Vidal), Lori Vidal Denham (Waitus "Dubby" Denham), all of Mandeville, LA; Bonnie Vidal Quick (Kelly Quick) of Austin, TX; Joni Vidal Roy (William Brian Roy) of Covington, LA; Paul G. Vidal (Melissa Molligan Vidal) and David J. Vidal (Dana Serio Vidal), all of Madisonville, LA. Also survived by twenty-one grandchildren who knew her as "Weesie": Olivia Vidal, Katherine "Katie" Vidal Chunn (Garrett), and Valerie Vidal; Michael Denham, Elizabeth Denham Miller (Aaron), and Marie Denham; Austin Quick (Anne), Nicole Quick McCourt (Cody), and Garrett Quick (Eileen); Devin Frey, Shelby, Christopher, Nicholas, Matthew, and Madison Roy; Alexis Haury Allen (Justin), Cameron, Carleigh, and Caden Vidal; Savannah and Ella Vidal. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Reese, Weston, and Paige McCourt; Blaire and Noah Quick; Henry and Peter Chunn; Preston and Christian Allen with Baby Allen, soon to

arrive, as well as many devoted nieces and nephews.

Her life was centered on her Catholic faith with a great love for God, devotion to the Blessed Mother, and appreciation for the Latin Tridentine Mass, serving as an active parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church until her illness. She was a special soul known for her sweet disposition and charitable nature exemplified by a life of caring for family and friends. Her face would light up to see you with her warm, welcoming smile. She never sought the limelight but was always in the background doing what she could to help others. Large family gatherings brought her happiness often with her delicious seafood gumbo, crawfish etouffee, or oyster dressing highlighting the menu. She touched many hearts and will be sorely missed by all.

Special thanks to the loving staff at Sage Lake Senior Living for their care during her illness.
