Esperanza Galarza, 95, of Lubbock, Texas, entered into eternal rest on August 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 18, 1929, in Stockdale, Texas, to Alberto Tello and Concepcion Muñoz.
For all that knew her, faith was the cornerstone of Esperanza’s life. Her devotion to the Church and her steadfast religious values shaped not only her own journey, but also the lives of her children and grandchildren. She could often be found praying the rosary, her hands moving in quiet rhythm, lifting up prayers for her family, friends, and community. More than anything, Esperanza cherished time spent visiting with her children, grandchildren, and dear friends. Her warm presence and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She had a way of making everyone feel blessed, often parting with her favorite words, “God bless you” and “Peace be with you.”
Esperanza’s legacy of faith, love, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her sister, Sara Carrasco of Pleasonton, Texas, sons, Greg and Martha Galarza, Joe Galarza, Benny Galarza, and David and Leticia Galarza, all of Lubbock, Texas, daughters, Selia and Raul Mojicia of Lubbock, Rosa Jamie of San Antonio, Texas, Irma Galarza of Lubbock, Texas, Mary (Donny) Galarza of Lubbock, Texas, and Gloria Galarza of Lubbock, Texas, along with 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose R Galarza, son, Enrique Galarza, and grandchild, Gregory Galarza.
